Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Nefes mobile app ("Nefes", "the app") handles information. Nefes is developed by Beytullah Bulut, an individual developer based in Türkiye ("I", "me"). Questions: nefessupport@gmail.com.
The short version
- Nefes has no accounts. I don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your smoking/vaping logs, cravings, triggers, goals and settings are stored only on your device. I can't see them.
- The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers. You can remove ads with a one-time purchase.
- I never sell your data.
1. Information stored on your device
To work, Nefes saves the following in a local database on your phone:
- Your setup answers: product type (cigarette, vape or both), daily amount, weekly spending, currency and goal (reduce or quit).
- The time of each log, and optional trigger tags (e.g. coffee, stress).
- Cravings you resisted and SOS breathing sessions.
- Your savings goal, language, theme and notification settings.
This information is not sent to me or to any server. It is deleted when you use Settings → Reset or uninstall the app.
2. Backups
If you choose Export backup, Nefes creates a file with the data above and opens your phone's share sheet. Where that file goes (Drive, email, Files, etc.) is your choice and governed by that service's own policy. Nefes only reads a backup file when you choose Import.
3. Notifications
Daily tips, milestone and reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push server is involved. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.
4. Home-screen widget (Android)
The widget reads and writes the same local database. It does not send data anywhere.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model, operating system, app interactions with ads and approximate location derived from IP. Nefes does not share your smoking/vaping logs or any other in-app data with Google or advertisers.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ads load, you are asked for consent using Google's certified consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- iOS: Nefes only uses the advertising identifier if you allow tracking when iOS asks. Otherwise you see non-personalized ads.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Google's advertising policies do not allow ads for tobacco or vaping products.

6. Purchases (Remove ads)
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store; I never receive your card details. To check whether you have purchased Remove ads and to restore it on a new device, Nefes uses RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives a random anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipt (product, price, date, country/currency) and basic device information. It does not receive your name or your in-app logs. 8. Legal bases (GDPR / KVKK)
Local storage of your logs is necessary to provide the app you asked for. Personalized advertising relies on your consent where the law requires it; non-personalized ads and fraud prevention rely on legitimate interest. Purchase verification is necessary to deliver what you bought.
9. Your rights
Because your in-app data is on your device, you can view, export and delete it yourself at any time. For data held by Google or RevenueCat, you can contact me and I will help, or contact those companies directly. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the Turkish KVKK, or California's CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.
10. Children
Nefes is intended for adults and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
11. Security and retention
Your data stays in the app's private storage on your device, protected by your phone's own security. I keep nothing on my side. Data held by the third parties above is kept according to their policies.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, mention it in the app.
